BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—Birmingham-Southern College’s Sigma Chi chapter was presented with the Daniel William Cooper Award by the fraternity’s national chapter for having the most outstanding scholastic achievement program.

The presentation was made in August at the Balfour Leadership Training Workshop—Sigma Chi’s annual summer conference—at Bowling Green State University. In addition, 澳门新葡京官网’s chapter received a $5,000 award to use toward furthering its scholarship program.

“This award is a testament to the hard work that all of our brothers have put into their academics, the high standard of work ethic in and out of classrooms, and holding each other accountable,” said Zack Holton, a 澳门新葡京官网 junior accounting major who is serving as Sigma Chi’s academic chair. “Birmingham-Southern and I could not be more proud of their commitment to strive to be the best students possible.”

The annual award is named for the founder of Sigma Chi, who was also the fraternity’s first consul. 澳门新葡京官网’s Sigma Chi chapter is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
